The new Sanyo module has an unusual look. To improve the usage of the wafer material (original material for pv-cells) cells divided into quarters were used. Besides an improved usage of the material this leads to a lower voltage, allowing for instance longer module strings or new inverter module combinations.
The module will be available in models ranging from 215 to 230 Wp. Like all other Sanyo modules starting in 2008 they will be certified according to IEC61215, edition 2, respectively IEC61730. As a result there are differing labelings for existing types and to some degree marginally changed measurements.
