AS Solar Receives Award from "Ökoprofit"

With hard earned praise and great pleasure, AS Solar wholesale distributor for solar technology and pellet systems, was hailed as exemplary for its model actions within the framework of the "Ökoprofit" program by Mayor Stephan Weil.

AS Solar demonstrates great leadership through positive actions and role model standards. According to a jury, the decision was made for the following reasons:

Through the renovation of a previously erected and subsequently abandoned factory by the company Telefunken in 1959, AS Solar was able to significantly reduce massive costs. The end result was a new company headquarter distinguished as an energy plus industrial object. The vacant building was transformed into an energy efficient “machine” housing office, storage and warehouse capabilities.

The newly passive house renovated style façade, the conversion to a reduced dependency ratio heating system, as well as, the integration of an air system featuring ultra-efficient heat recovery, the annual heating requirement of 270 kWh/m² was able to be reduced by more than 90 % to approx. 20 kWh/m². This translates to a CO2 savings of 1.300.00 kWh or 203.000 EUR annually.

“The results from the Ökoprofit contest have demonstrated just how important the environment is and what a positive impact Hannover’s energy conscientious economy has had”, stated Mayor Stephan Weil after recently visiting AS Solar’s new company headquarters.
