On March 18 the documentation Die 4. Revolution – Energy Autonomy starts in movie theatres. In his newest work director Carl-A. Fechner sketches a captivating vision. A world community whose energy demand is completely supplied by renewable sources, available to everybody, affordable and clean. It is about the restructuring of power relations; away from the centralized structures of conventional energy suppliers, away from oil, gas and nuclear power toward a decentralized energy supply. Everybody can produce and consume energy. The costs are redistributed. Energy autonomy is an opportunity for a sustained economic development, social peace, and ultimately global justice.
